Hall of Fame induction

Peters, Nicodemus, Koontz receive ‘Hall of Fame’ honors during Jan. 9 game halftime
The Whitko Booster Club plans to induct three new members into the Whitko Hall of Fame Friday, January 9, at half time of the varsity basketball game with Rochester.
The Hall of Fame began last year with the induction of long-time football coach Bryan Sprunger.
This year’s honorees are: Jeff Peters, a Whitko High School basketball player who went on to play for Notre Dame University and was named an Indiana All Star; Steve Nicodemus, also a WHS basketball player, who played at Michigan State University, also an Indiana All Star; and Matt Koontz who wrestled for Whitko, for Purdue Uinverstiy and was a two-time place winner at state. During his senior season, Koontz was undefeated and a state champion at 112 pounds; the Mental Attitude winner and is currently the Whitko wrestling coach.
