AMVETS hosting Ice Storm Appreciation Dinner January 17

AMVETS Post 2919 in South Whitley is hosting a beef and noodle dinner on Saturday, January 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. This event is an opportunity for the public to meet and thank the many workers who diligently worked to restore power to South Whitley residents after December’s ice storm.
The cost of the meal is free to any storm worker and their family, but a donation is requested from the public.
Come and enjoy a delicious beef and noodle dinner in the non-smoking street-level AMVETS hall at 234 S. State Street and thank those who worked long hours to restore power to so many after the worse ice storm in many years.

South Whitley Festival volunteer meetings start Jan. 15
It is time to start planning the 2009 South Whitley Fall Festival.
The fate of the festival is once again in question, because of so few volunteers.
If you want to see the festival continue please plan to attend the meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the town hall.
Election of officers will be held along with ideas for new events.
Please plan to attend, the festival can not continue with such a limited number of volunteers.
